While the most common barrier for women not catching up with girlfriends was work commitments, the most startling finding was that, when it comes to holidays, a mere 3% of women surveyed who were in a relationship spent their holidays with female friends, versus 89% who spent them with their partner. That’s despite the fact that 68% of women in the survey had known their closest girlfriend longer than their boyfriend or partner.
Alarmingly, the trend continues for single women, with only 23% surveyed spending their holidays with female friends. Most preferred mixed groups of friends, family and prospective boyfriends.
