Brisbane’s most exciting new address, The Calile Hotel, will provide a full scale wellness escape when one of the nation’s top spa facilities opens on site in September. KAILO Wellness Medispa and Forme Fitness will open on the hotel’s pool deck level as part of Australia’s first urban resort and will include 10 treatment rooms.
The new wellness venue comes to us from Meaghan South, the creator of Brisbane’s highly regarded The Dome Retreat. Ms South and her team will provide a holistic wellness experience that combines ancient wisdom with modern approaches to skin health, medical aesthetics and beauty essentials in a space designed for relaxation and restoring vitality. Partnering with Ms South is Brisbane Cosmetic Medicine Specialist Dr. Edwina Morgan, who will head up a team of professional paramedical therapists and doctors.
Rounding out the wellness offering will be Forme Fitness, offering sophisticated gym equipment and personal training methods, in a boutique space with well-considered and luxurious facilities. Owner Tristian Forbes has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years. He and his team will offer a full service to hotel guests and local clients.
The Calile Hotel is taking bookings for its September opening. It has also confirmed a curated line-up of top retail and dining offerings, celebrating the city’s sublime subtropical climate combined with urban streetscape atmosphere
Within the hotel guests will be able to experience the hotel’s Lobby Bar - which will offer a contemporary menu for breakfast, evening dining and cocktails created by acclaimed Executive Chef Kitak Lee. On the pool level, Simon Gloftis (recently described by The New York Times as serving the best Greek food in Australia) will open the much anticipated Hellenika. It will have an exciting modern Greek menu in a vast floor space that opens to the leafy pool terrace and offers dining under the stars at poolside cabanas. Ada Lane is set to open later this year, adjoining the hotel, and featuring five new street level tenancies dedicated to eateries and bars.
The ground floor of the hotel will feature some of Australia’s most sought-after fashion designers whose new boutiques will join the already vibrant retail mix on James Street. They include acclaimed fashion innovator Dion Lee; sustainable organic cotton favourite Bassike; Sydney leisure success story Venroy; internationally successful Bec & Bridge; and Dutch lingerie brand Love.
Also joining The Calile Hotel will be current James Street retail outlets – Calexico Man,
Wolfe & Ordnance, Andronis Fine Jewellery and Mister Zimi.
The hotel and many of the buildings on James Street are designed by Brisbane architects Richards & Spence, melding urban design with leafy landscaped facades. The lifestyle precinct has become a local, national and international destination - known for its unique blend of retail offerings, design aesthetic, award winning restaurants and laneway bars.
The hotel’s 175 generous guest rooms include nine suites and two premier suites. Each is designed with the ultimate guest experience in mind, with an individual balcony, Bluetooth sound bar, motorised blackout blinds, 55” flat screen television and complimentary new-release movies.
Leisure facilities are designed to help guests embrace the authentic charm of the sub-tropical locale.
Beautiful and flexible event spaces cater to intimate culinary soirees, poolside cocktail parties, grand ballroom celebrations or weddings for up to 500 people. Wedding guests and event delegates can unwind at the Lobby Bar, enjoy a poolside cocktail and dinner, energise in the fitness centre, or be pampered at the spa, which will offer a range of wellness services.
