Tassie kids take the field with Australia's best at inaugural Adina Community Clinic in Hobart

HOBART: Hockey Australia, in partnership with Adina hotels, brought its much-loved Adina Community Clinic program to Hobart for the first time over the weekend, giving more than 100 local kids the chance to learn from some of Australia’s top hockey stars.

As the official accommodation partner of Hockey Australia, Adina proudly sponsored the Community Clinic, held at the Aurora Energy Tasmanian Hockey Centre on Sunday, 15 February, ahead of the city’s FIH Pro League matches. Designed for children aged 5 to 12, the clinics provide a fun and welcoming introduction to hockey, with skills and drills delivered by elite athletes who inspire the next generation of players.

Proud Tasmanian Kookaburras Josh and Hayden Beltz were joined by teammates Ky Willott and Dylan Downey, while the Hockeyroos were represented by Aleisha Power, Karri Somerville, and Grace Young, all sharing their expertise (and plenty of high fives) with the excited group of young participants.

The Hobart event follows successful clinics held in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Darwin, and coincided with the announcement of a brand new 48-key Adina hotel set to open in Hobart later this year, marking another milestone in a partnership that continues to unite communities nationwide.

“As an Australian-born brand, Adina is incredibly proud to support Aussies in meaningful and lasting ways,” said Adina Brand Manager, Emily Hoare. “Launching our first Adina property in Hobart later this year marks an exciting new chapter for us, and partnering with Hockey Australia allows us to give back to the communities that welcome us.”

In welcoming the brand to Tasmania, General Manager of the soon-to-open Adina Hobart, Jamie Capp, said the team spirit on display at the clinic reflected exactly what Adina hopes to foster in the local community.

“Seeing so many Tassie kids out on the field, learning new skills and connecting with their hockey heroes, was incredibly special,” he said.  “And as we prepare to open Adina Hobart later this year, being able to support grassroots experiences like this helps us to continue to build on the genuine connections we’ve established in the region through our Vibe and Travelodge brands.”

“Hobart has such strong community pride, and the Adina team can’t wait to become part of that fabric  - not just as a hotel, but as an active contributor to moments that matter,” Capp added.

Adina Community Clinics are delivered across Australia, connecting families with the game’s biggest stars and offering young participants a positive, inclusive entry point into hockey. The program also serves as a pathway into Hookin2Hockey, Hockey Australia’s national junior participation initiative for children aged 5–12.
